The 17th Biennale of Sydney
I was fortunate enough this past week to take a day off and visit the 17th Biennale of Sydney, which winds its way around Sydney's beautiful harbour. It was such a pleasure to not only spend some time around the harbour and city, but be immersed in the most current contemporary art from across the globe.
The festival encorporates pockets of exhibits on Cockatoo Island, Pier 2/3, Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The artworks are diverse, politcal, poetic and inspiring. Notions of country, identity and beauty are explored through so diverse means and media, that i came away so fulfilled by what i saw.
I'll post some pictures from my day soon. Otherwise go visit the 17th Biennale of Sydney yourself!
